[HAVEN] Cloverfield was kind of, or totally dissapointing!

Considering you are still on a forum based solely on the movie, still questioning it, and still want to talk about it, apparently it hit you in some sort of way.

My deduction is that the movie did its job.

i dont think cloverfield is a movie with "mediocre" ratings. its an either you hate it so much cause you puked or I LOVE THAT FREAKING MOVIE!!!!!

theres really no space for grey areas.

This movie did what it was made to do, ENTERTAIN, it was not supposed to be "Star Wars" I mean really, its a MONSTER MOVIE, thats all, and for a monster movie......its was good Smile

overall a good film

I seriously understand that some people did not like the movie for numerous reasons, but I must say particularly to iConsumer did you enjoy ANY part of this experience. Haven't you quit the forum and left at least once because you hate the way it's going, the people involved, the story or something else that so happened to irk you. I am not trying to flame, I just feel that if you dislike it you should move on to something perhaps you would enjoy.

I have a hard time thinking that anyone with a solid imagination would not really like this movie. Or, people who like to have everything spelled out for them and wrapped up in a neat little box. Regardless, i am definitely not on this forum to read lame complaints.

From the people I've talked to and what I've read, it seems that people either loved it or hated it, with virtually no in between. I was talking to a guy in my Spanish lab this morning and he said he thought it was just alright, that he wished they had focused on the monster more and that he would've liked to have seen some of it through a normal camera shot.

I don't know where this whole love/hate thing is comming from. Maybe it is something specific to people that have followed the experience. I attended the movie with a mixed bag of people. Some of us had followed the experience and others hadn't even heard of the movie. Those of us that followed the experience loved the movie. Those that didn't follow the experience thought it was a good movie.

I think it is completely possible to think a movie is just ok. There is a gray area.

I personaly loved the movie, it was a different take on the monster film, in which it was'nt so much about the monster, but 5 new yorkers trying to survive all hell breaking loose, a freind who had'nt been following it thought it was well done, and watched it a second time for a better look at the monster.
