It feels like they're really getting back to the art feel of the early cards that were released. I don't know about anybody else, but I like it.

I like it but at the same time, I really loved the Stuff with Morcar, The Queen, Edwin, And all that.

This is what it was like back in November. Those of us who really got into the early art aspect of it miss this kind of thing. I do, at least.

Since it seems that this week's card is a little bit more complex than previous ones, here's a complete map of 5S's site.

A message from Hermes --

To the Passengers.

After speaking with some people and about the shuffling, and reading the AIM chat, it became clear to me what had truly transpired.

You were used today. It wasn't your fault. You were promised that a friend that had been taken away from you would be returned. That combined with the perceived urgency of the situation made you rush past some obvious gaps in logic. Believe me, I miss Rose as much as anyone else.

Did anyone even really question the source of the information about the device? Ben was told by a Passenger told by a Passenger? Sketchy at best. If the device in question were real, I imagine that Edwin would have told someone closer than "a friend of a friend".

I noticed that some people were strongly against the idea of breaking into Edwin's house. Rightfully so. Breaking into someone's house to use something that he would most likely lend if asked is terribly wrong, no matter the potential gain.

I believe that the entire goal was to have the Passengers assist in shuffling the Deck as a power play. Feed some information down the pipeline to Ben that there is a way to get one of his fellow Spades back. He comes to the Passengers for assistance. By helping him the Deck gets shuffled.

It wouldn't be a big enough benefit for the Korporation to have the Deck shuffled, but it would if it would allow a power hungry Card make a move for more control. Delilah wouldn't do it on her own. It would potentially remove her "access" within the Deck. But if the Queen saw it as a way to drop some chaos in the mix, then step in to either "save the day", or try to gain leadership over the entire Deck by brute force, she would of course take the chance.

I have no doubt whatsoever that there was no device. Rose was like a carrot on a string, to keep you from noticing the cliff. Sadly, she made for good bait.

Hermes

Ok, so here is where I again question who Hermes is. With all this wonderous insight, it might help if Hermes was around before the fact. Hindsight is 20-20 to everyone, not just some mysterious person who probably doesn't even exist in the physical world as we know it.

That article, in addition to my own research, had led me to believe that we really shouldn't try to predict what is going to happen now. The Black Swan has happened and now we can only experience what comes next. It'd be fruitless to try and predict what EXACTLY the Shuffle will mean.

Lisa, I can understand your skepticism of Hermes. I share some of that, albeit, not as vocal about it. Wink He does bring up a few good points every now and then. I'd just take him with a grain of salt if I were you. 20/20 is clear to everyone, but I mean, if we don't learn from history...

--

and, To Hermes (if you can see this): I don't think we were used in a power play, I never once felt guilty for causing the shuffle and I don't believe that breaking into Edwin's house was 100% wrong. I take a more Machiavellian stance on things like this. Smile

Sure it turned out differently than what I thought, but Ben/5S is a SPADE. I didn't expect anything clean cut and perfectly squared. I didn't expect anything to go 'according to plan'. I accept that Rose was bait, but I refuse to think that she was used as bait in a malevolent scheme.

I can't wait to hear from you again, especially after this Shuffling gets a little more on track. Even if it is heard by a passenger who heard it from a passenger. (Wait, that sounds familiar...) Very Happy

As far as Hermes goes, I find it incredibly offensive for someone who doesn't participate to sit back and take pot shots at what we did. The internet is a haven for the socially uncomfortable, and speaking through people means he's doing the exact fucking thing that he's condemning us for doing trusting Ben.
As far as I'm concerned, he's not a passenger, he's a journalist like the ones I hear on Sports talk radio. Got any predictions on how well we're gonna do in the draft, if we should change from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3, or just outright fire the coach and look for another? Gimme a break...Either this is an IG character, or what he says carries less water then anyone else that participates. Never trust the gossip queen...

But to get back to the topic, has anyone heard from any deck member since the shuffle over 24 hours ago or did all that happen was a change to the front page?

Haven't heard anything. I've only contacted Dom, Jonah, and Ben though.

I really hope they're not going to do this huge thing and then not even let us know the basic results of it for a few days. That would be very cruel.

Maybe we should be looking into older versions of the BSP...

Older version

My reason why?
Aside from beautiful art, there are references to this week.
