Really? *Rewatches* Oh well, nice find then GB! lol

I just played the BBC's 'interactive' photo upload mission game thing on their [Spooks] Code 9 website and my agent took a photo of a bit of paper w/ this url on it.

www.libertynews.co.uk/116vs4d

I went there but it's literally just a story about life after the bomb etc. Nothing specific.

LOL the problem with it being a BBC game is that it's not just ARGers playing/commenting

Did anyone catch Emma Miltons email address?

Never mind it's:
doctoremmaSPLATmailalot.org

Robs email is:
dr.robsullivanSPLATglobespacemail.net

I've shot an email off to both of them asking if they know the other.

[edit] Damn not real email addresses. I'm not even sure this is an ARG anymore. Come on BBC this is the biggest opportunity ever and your wasting it on interactive face molding videos.

[edit2] Just incase anyone was going to try and work out the grid reference... it leads here:

Yep somewhere in the middle of the sea! Hmmm

Worked out by taking the square root of two 1.41421356 from the "random number" 154133482174 so that's 533874 which is the OS grid ref.

Well I've just shot off an email to both... Not sure how long it'll take to come back not working but it hasn't yet.

Something has to come of this ERA wise.

Hmmm. I got a can't deliver reply almost immediately. Maybe I'll send it again.

Perhaps the PMs didn't expect us to get the emails so quickly. I've got a freeze button on my TV so I was able to freeze frame the email addresses and shoot off emails even before the program was over!

[edit] Mail system email from Emma Milton's address:

Hi,

This must seem strange getting an email from a complete stranger, but I was wondering if you knew Rob Sullivan. Please email me back I need to get in contact with him.

Michael

As far as I'm aware, this is not an ARG; it's an extended reality, getting people to take part, think about the issues, role play as though you were in that world.

It's part of the multi-platform thing of the BBC, with stories playing out over more than just the TV, so the libertynews site is something you read in conjunction with the TV programme (the Twitter feed notifies you when there's a new story).

Well yeah it already mentions that but the whole Torchwood thing was just s'posed to be an E.R.A but it had ARG definitions to it -shrug-

Liberty News

Why are articles dated June 2013 only being published in August 2013?

Who is suppressing the news?

Sorry to say that's just a one-off 'interactive' game which is advertised on the site and on the commercials after the show itself.

And I don't think the news is being 'supressed' although we're definitely getting a different story to what we know happened because they dont want to compromise the FO's of MI5. I just think August 2008 is June 2013 in their timeline - Although the paper says August 2013 now?

Also the radiation map thing has been replaced with a sort of 'what would you buy and how would you survive another nuclear bomb?' game

This weeks Private Eye talks about code 9 in the Media section it's quite interseting (paraphrased)
Quote:
The real shock however is the quality of the spin offs spin offs...which in this case boils down to a diverting fake newes from 2013 website and an impressive choose-your-own-adventure game which allows you to scan in your own face and play as a moving breathing character in a tale that is far more exciting than anything on the slightly bigger screen.....(BBC3 Should be) Concentrating on becoming a quite capable little computer-games developer instead?

choose-your-own-adventure game ? Intersting as I used a similar sentence to describe an ARG to a freind who hadn't heard of arg's. [/quote]

Interestingly, the dateline on Liberty News has now wound back from 19 August 2013 to 11 June 2013, so maybe just a production hiccup?

I noticed that too. Also noticed an article about a guy who runs a company called ReconnectedUK

Although any attempts to find a website pertaining to the group have been to no avail.
