It lacks some very distinctive features of Yankee Stadium (even 1960's era YS, before the early 70's renovation). The Frieze (facade) on top of the stadium is actually the ONLY thing, in the picture, that might give the impression of YS, and even it's not correct (above instead of below). It could just as easily be pennant flags, actually.

The field dimensions are "generic" as are the seating setup (no cantilever upper decks apparent...no obvious bleachers in the correct areas...some in one area, but not in the other). The "lights" are off from where they should be. The roof line is not quite right.

It's possible it was inspired by Yankee Stadium, but some of the important details are missing. Which isn't to say it's NOT meant to be YS....it could just be they didn't make it distinctive enough to DEFINITELY be YS.

Bethesda says they've got nothing to do with it, FYI.

First, a Bethesda representative confirmed to IGN this viral campaign "has nothing to do with us or anything we're doing." So we can rule out a Fallout: New Vegas tease.

That's because it's not an image of the stadium in the 60's. If you look up Yankee stadium images from 1928-1936 the two are identical.

Looks about right.

Here's another picture I found that also seems to match the theory that it's the old Yankee Stadium.

ETA Is the blinking light on the TV at gknova6 blinking morse code?

One thing I just noticed: They changed the Google Analytics number. They created a new account so it ends with a "1".

Hi all,

Maybe im not fully awake but the Google Analytic ID from the source of www.gknova6.com at present is this: UA-15695768

The source page:

Code:
<html>
   <head>
      <meta>
      <title>GKNOVA6</title>
      <style>
         * { margin: 0; padding: 0; }
         body { background: #000; }
      </style>
      <script></script>
      <script>
         swfobject.embedSWF('station.swf', "transmission", "100%", "100%", "9.0.0","expressInstall.swf", {}, {menu:'false', scale:'scale', bgcolor:'#000000'}, {});
      </script>
   </head>
   <body>
      <table>
         <tr>
            <td>
               <div></div>
            </td>
         </tr>
      </table>

<script>
var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www.");
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
</script>
<script>
try {
var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-15695768-1");
pageTracker._trackPageview();
} catch(err) {}</script>

   </body>
</html>

So that removes Activision completly.

For some reason I believe that that vertical line of red lights on the TV panel will be becoming green one-by-one as we get access to new videos.

Yup, I stand corrected.

But then the "era" of the other videos is "off". I went back to the 60's because that's when the other videos seem to indicate the era is. Didn't think to go back further. The picture they "used" was prior to the '36 - '38 renovations that changed the stadium into what most people consider it's "classic" configuration.

Granted, we're now talking about minutia....but still. Smile

That was recently changed... If you look at my post on page 1 of this thread (direct link HERE), you'll see that the ORIGINAL Google Analytics link - the link that was there when the page launched - was UA-6621671-29.

They apparently changed it and made a new Google Analytics account after that, I'm guessing to make the origin of it not so obvious.

Has anyone tried to watch the blinking light to try and pick up the Morse code mentioned earlier?
