Comic Book Cipher

Well, M did tell Josh to upload the code from the book so he could solve something he had been working on.. which appears to be the maps he posted..
So, Josh has it, M has it, but we havent been given any link to it as far as we know..
The comic seems to be the Classics Moby Dick shown by Josh with the TROGL written on it and the reference to Back Binder..It makes reference to Rachel but so far, nobody has found the key here..
The notes?
Unless they are waiting for us to find locked in the PDP11, I dont know what notes he is talking about,,..or how he got them to Josh without us seeing them.. if it were the EXPCNV tones, there has never been any mention of them since they were posted.. Josh has never acknowledged that he understands them and anyway, M says 'my notes' which dont really make sense if its the EXPCNV since those would be 'the notes'..

Either we have missed something or we have to wait for some more clues..
A very disjointed and one sided ARG so far..

Perhaps the numbers on the maps indicate page # and word # in the book?

Either that or the comic actually refers to a comic that he's gonna upload and we just have to wait a while.

or is the code the frequency numbers from the notes ?

Trouble is I'm struggling with the application.

I can see that the text of the Moby Dick comic could be used as the random text, but I'm not sure how to apply the numbers.

[Edit] The text of the comic could also be the message and we have to figure out the pad, I've tried combinations of letters based on the musical note sequences or substituting numbers for letters but I can't seem to get anything useful.

I've also thought that the golden ratio numbers could be paired and relate to page numbers from the comic e.g.

Zort I looked at that too, agreed it's a possibility. I had wondered after reading about this if "EXPCNV" was part of a ciphertext even with it being the mysterious audio but I'm not getting any ideas on where the one-time-pad (text) would come from.

Another possibility (although slimmer and probably already mentioned) is the Bible/Torah Code. It's been used with Moby Dick before, but what text we'd be searching for is the tricky part.

Something has been bugging me with the comic in the print out from STIES.

The picture show the inside cover and page 1. Looking through the pages on http://www.tkinter.smig.net/ClassicsIllustrated/MobyDick/index.htm I can't seem to find a matching picture.

After a bit of clicking around, actually a few hours, it seems that the Classics Illustrated is into its 15th or so printing.

Could Josh's copy be an early or rare edition and we just haven't found the source yet and the PMs aren't releasing the cyper until we find the right edition?

Ok, so I've been tracking down the exact issue of the Moby Dick comic that has the correct splash page and correct first page. I now have it in my hands. Sorry for the quick phone pics.

Last page to compare to other versions

I'll flip through it at work tonight when I have time.

Where did you find/get it? Does it compare to the online scans? The online scans don't have the advertisement, so having the exact one will be good.
